Properties and Indications

  • Stimulan is a balanced formula designed for use in cases of the exposure to stress conditions especially during and after vaccination to stimulate the immune response and increase the vitality of the birds and animals to resist such conditions.
  • Zinc stimulates the production of T-cells.
  • Zinc modulates the activity of several enzymes that play a central role in nucleic acid metabolism, e.g. DNA and RNA polymerases and thymidine kinase.
  • Iron and Zinc are essential in Stimulan because during the immune response there is a marked increase in excretion of zinc and decreased absorption of iron.
  • Iron is an essential nutrient for a wide variety of cellular and molecular functions.
  • Iron is required to optimize the lymphoid tissues functions;
  • Free iron is required and contribute to bactericidal activity of polymorphonuclear leukocytes.
  • Vitamin E has immunoregulatory action on avian leukocytes that are independent of their antioxidant functions.
  • Vitamin E decrease prostaglandin E2 release and modulates cytokine release.
  • Vitamin E is required for normal growth and reproduction and stimulates the humoral immunity and reduces the severity of E.coli infection
  • Vitamin E & Selenium increase the humoral immunity and decrease the mortality and weight loss due to malabsorption (infectious stunting syndrome), chicks deficient in vitamin E and selenium have impaired development of the bursa, spleen and thymus.
  • Vitamin E & Selenium are needed for normal reproductive performance in hens and mature male.
  • Vitamin B1 is necessary for the function of nerve and muscle performance and to assist in production of energy from carbohydrates and proteins and fats.
  • Propylene glycol is glucogenic agent that increases mitochondrial citrate concentrations, also its metabolism to glucose occurring via conversion to pyrovate with subsequent production of oxalacetate via pyrovate carboxylase. The produced glucose prevents protein-energy malnutrition that causing severe immunosuppression.
