Composition
Each 100 gm contains:
Sulfaclozine = (sulfachloropyrazine) sodium monohydrate : 30 gm
Properties
- Sulfaclozimed is an antibacterial belonging to the group of sulfonamides. Like all sulfonamides, sulfaclozine is a competitive antagonist of para- aminobenzoic acid (PABA), a precursor of folic acid, in protozoa and bacteria.
- Folic acid is a coenzyme necessary for the synthesis of nucleic acid; hence sensitive species do not multiply in the presence of sulfaclozimed
Indications
Sulfaclozimed is indicated for treatment of coccidiosis in poultry due to infection with Eimeria species, fowl typhoid due to infection with Salmonella gallinarum and fowl cholera due to infection with Pasteurella multocida
Target species
Non-egg laying hens and Turkeys.
Dosage instructions
For whole product
Orally in drinking water
- For coccidiosis caused by E. tenella and E. necatrix:
- 1.5 gm -2.0 gm Sulfaclozimed / liter for 3 days.
- Treatment of Cholera and Typhoid:
- 1-2 gm Sulfaclozimed / liter for at least 5 days.
Warnings & Precautions
- Medicated drinking water: Prepare fresh water daily.
- Avoid underdosing sick birds may drink less water than normal so must increase concentration of sulfaclozimed in water
- Avoid overdosing. At high ambient temperature birds drink more water than normal so must decrease concentration of sulfaclozimed in water.
Contra Indications
Not use in case of Anemia, leukopenia and thrombocytopenia

None.
Withdrawal time
Non-egg laying hen:
- 18 days before slaughter.
Turkeys:
- 28 days before slaughter
Storage condition
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C in a dry place and valid to 50 days after opening as a powder and used immediately after reconstitution,
