Composition
Each 100 ml contains:
Toltrazuril 2.5 gm
Properties
- Toltrazuril is an anticoccidial of the triazinetrione group, active against Eimeria spp, Its activity affects the intracellular development stages of the parasite without affecting the extracellular stages of the parasites.
- At parasite level, toltrazuril decreases the enzymatic activity of the respiratory chain, causing inflammation of the endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus, perinuclear space modifications and alteration of division of the nucleus.
Indications
For the treatment of coccidiosis caused by:
Chicken (Broilers and breeders):
- Eimeria acervulina, E. brunetti, E. maxima, E. necatrix and E. tenella.
Turkeys:
- Eimeria adenoides, E. meleagrimitis.
Target species
Chicken (Broilers and breeders) and turkey.
Dosage instructions
For oral administration only:
For whole product:
- 28 ml of Toltrasol 2.5% per 100 kg of body weight (about 3 ml Toltrasol 2.5% / liter) for two days.
Warnings & Precautions
- As with all anticoccidials, prolonged use may result in the development of resistant strains.
- It is recommended that all individuals in the group are treated.
- For best results, treatment should be initiated before the clinical signs of disease have spread throughout the whole group
- Combination of the product with antibiotics may result in reduced water intake in turkeys.
- The concomitant administration of other substances to the drinking water should be avoided
Contra Indications
- Do not use in cases of known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excepients
- Not to be used for chickens producing egg for human consumption.
Side Effects
None in recommended dose.
Withdrawal time
Chicken:
- Meat and offal: 18 days.
Do not use in birds producing eggs for human consumption.
Turkey :
- Meat and offal: 16 days.
Storage condition
Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C and used after opening for 50 days at temperature not exceeding 30°C.
