Composition
Each 100 gm contains:
Amprolium HCl 25.0 gm
Equi. to Amprolium base 22.1 gm
Ethopabate 1.6 gm
Properties
- Amprolium acts on first generation schizonts thereby preventing differentiation of merozoites
- Amprolium is structurally similar to thiamine (vitamin B1) and is a competitive antagonist of thiamine transport mechanisms.
- Ethopabate is structural antagonist of folic acid or of Para-Amino-Benzoic Acid (PABA), which is a precursor of folic acid (the host does not synthesize folic acid and has no requirement for PABA.)
Indications
Amproilum plus is a coccidiostate used for treatment and prevention of :
- Coccidiosis in growing chickens and guinea fowl caused by Eimria tenella , Eimria necatrix, Eimria brunette, Eimria maxima and Eimria mitis.
- Coccidiosis in turkey caused by Eimria adenoeides, Eimria gallopavonis and Eimria meleagrimitis.
Target species
Growing chickens, guinea fowl and turkey.
Dosage instructions
For whole product
0.25 – 0.5 kg Amprolium Plus / ton feed for 5-7 days.
Warnings & Precautions
- The medicated feed used as a sole source of amprolium.
- Administration of thiamine in high doses may reverse or reduce the efficacy of amprolium
Contra Indications
- Not uesd for laying hens
- Don’t use Amprolium Plus as a treatment for outbreaks of coccidiosis
- Don’t use in feeds containing bentonite.
Side Effects
It might induce thiamin deficiency by prolonged use.
Withdrawal time
Meat:
- 3 days.
Storage condition:
Store at temperature not exceeding 30ºC in a dry place and used after opening for 50 days at temperature not exceeding 30ºC in a dry place and used immediately after mixing with feed.
