Composition:
Each 150 gm contains:
Spectinomycin Sulphate tetrahydrate 100.86 gm
Equivalent to Spectinomycin base 66.70 gm
Lincomycin Hydrochloride 37.76 gm
Equivalent to Lincomycin base 33.30 gm
Properties:
- Spectolinc Soluble Powder contains the antibiotics lincomycin and spectinomycin.
- Lincomycin is a lincosamide antibiotic and is produced by Streptomyces lincolnensis. It is bacteriostatic and is primarily active against Gram-positive bacteria (both aerobic and anaerobic), Gram-negative anaerobic bacteria and mycoplasmas.
- The mode of action is inhibition of protein synthesis at the ribosomal 50S sub-unit level
- Spectinomycin is aminocyclitol antibiotic
- Spectinomycin is primarily a bacteriostatic antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis in susceptible bacteria by binding to the 30S ribosomal subunit.
- Spectinomycin has activity against a wide variety of gram positive and gram-negative bacteria including E. Coli, Klebsiella Protus, Enterobacter, Salmonella, Streptococci, Staphylococcus and Mycoplasma.
Indications:
- Broiler chickens: Antibacterial or antimycoplasmal therapy against sensitive organisms.
- For treatment of Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Escherichia coli susceptible to Lincomycin – Spectinomycin.
- Pigs : For treatment of enteritis caused by Lawsonia intracellularis (ileitis).
Target species
Broiler chickens & Swine
Dosage & Administration
