Product description

Composition

Each 100 gm contains

  • Piperazine citrate                        100 gm
  • Equiv. to Piperazine base          35 gm

Properties

  • Piperazine is Internal antiparasitic that acts acts by blocking the neuromuscular transmission in the parasite, due to its effect anticholinergic, which causes a flaccid paralysis. It also blocks the production of succinic acid
  • The worms, paralyzed and exhausted of energy, are expelled by peristaltism. Its action is limited to adult stages

Indications

  • Treatment of intestinal nematodes produced by adult forms of nematodes sensitive to piperazine:Pigs: Ascaris suum and Oesophagostomun spp.
  • Broilers: Ascaridia galli and Cappillaria spp .
  • Horses not destined to human consumption: Parascaris equorum , Oxyuris equi , Trichonema spp.

Pigs, Broiler Chickens and horses

Dosage and administration

Route of administration: orally via drinking water

For Whole Product:
In pigs & Horses: 3.1 g of product / 10 kg body weight in a single dose.
In Broiler Chickens: 0.9 g of product / 1 Liter of drinking water for 2 consecutive days.

Warnings & Precautions

  • Do not use in horses whose meat or milk is intended for human consumption.
  • Do not use in birds whose eggs are destined for human consumption.
  • The following practices should be avoided since they increase the risk of resistance development and might render the therapy ineffective:
    • Frequent and repeated use of anthelmintics of the same kind or for an extended period of time.
    • Underdosing which may be due to incorrect estimation of body weight, misuse of the medication or lack of calibration of the dosing device.
  • Do not use in drinking fountains with rusty areas.
  • Do not administer simultaneously with phenothiazines, due to possible extrapyramidal side effects.
  • Do not administer in combination with laxatives.

Contra Indications

  • Do not use in animals with hepatic, renal or with a history of generalized tonicclones
  • Do not use in weakened or cachectic animals

Side Effects

  • Occasionally they can cause vomiting, diarrhea and incoordination.

Withdrawal Time:

Meat:

  • Pigs: 3 days
  • Birds (Chickens): 2 days

Eggs:

  • Its use is not authorized in birds whose eggs are used for human consumption.

Do not use in the 4 weeks before the start of lay.

Do not use on horses whose meat or milk is intended for human consumption.

Storage Conditions

Store at temperature not exceeding 30◦C in a dry place.
