Product description

Composition

Each vial 15 ml capacity contains:
Diminazene aceturate      1050.0 mg
Phenazone                               1312.5 mg

Concentration after reconstitution

Each 1 ml of prepared solution contains:
Diminazene aceturate      70.0 mg
Phenazone                              87.5 mg

Properties

  • Diminazene is an aromatic Diminidine derivative; it exerts its antiprotozoal action by binding to DNA and interferes with parasite replication.
  • Phenazone is a pyrazolone derivative which has a powerful antipyretic analgesic and anti- inflammatory actions
  • Batrynil contains Phenazone which has a powerful antipyretic analgesic and anti- inflammatory action which are the main symptoms found in the infected animals as a result of insect bites and leukocytic activity against the blood parasite.

Indications

Batrynil is indicated for use in:

Horses:

Treatment of babesiosis caused by Babesia caballi , Babesia equi and Babesia bigemina .

Cattle:

  • Treatment of babesiosis caused by Babesia bigemina and Babesia bovis.
  • Treatment of trypanosomiasis caused by T. brucei , T. vivax, T. evansi & T congolense

Sheep & goat :

  • Treatment of babesiosis caused by Babesia bovis and Babesia motasi.

Pigs :

  • Treatment of babesiosis caused by Babesia trautmanni

Dogs:

  • Treatment of babesiosis caused by Babesia canis and Babesia gibsoni.

Cats:

  • Treatment of babesiosis caused by Babesia berpailuri .
  • Treatment of Cytauxzoon infection

Target species

Horses, Cattle, Sheep, Goat , Dogs and Cats.

Dosage instructions

Route of administration:

  • I/M injection

For whole product:

  • For treatment of babesiosis in horses, cattle, sheep, goat, pigs, dogs and cats use 0.4 – 0.7 ml of Batrynil /10 kg B.wt single dose.
  • For treatment of trypanosomiasis in cattle use 0.5 – 1 ml of Batrynil /10 kg B.wt single dose.

Contra – Indications

  • Not intended for I/V injection
  • Hypersensitivity to Diminazene aceturate or Phenazone

Side Effects

Local irritation may occur at the site of injection

Warnings & Precautions

  • For I/M injection only

Withdrawal time

Cattle, sheep & goat:

  • Meat – 29 days.
  • Milk – 21 days

Storage condition

Store in temperature not exceeding 30◦C

  • Vial of 100 ml capacity containing 7000 mg Diminazene & 8750 mg Phenazone.
  • Vial of 75 ml capacity containing 5250 mg Diminazene & 6562.5 mg Phenazone.
  • Vial of 15 ml capacity containing 1050 mg Diminazene & 1312.5 mg Phenazone.
