Product description

Composition

Each 100 ml contains:

Butylscopolamine bromide    0.4 gm
Metamizole                                      50.0 gm

Properties

  • Butylscopolamine bromide is a spasmolytic agent with particular activity on the smooth muscle of the digestive and urinary systems. It antagonizes the actions of acetylcholine at the muscarinic receptor and also has some activity at nicotinic receptors. Its pharmacological profile is similar to atropine, the main member of this class.
  • Metamizole is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug of the pyrazolone group and also has analgesic and anti-pyretic effects.

Indications

Buscovet Compositum used for:

  • Control of pain associated with simple equine colic and as a diagnostic aid in more severe equine colic.
  • For the control of diarrhoea in horses and dogs particularly when pain or abdominal discomfort is present
  • For the control of pain associated with urinary obstruction in horses and dogs.

Dosage instructions

Use aseptic techniques.

Horses:

5 ml Buscovet Compositum/100 kg body weight by I/V injection only.

Dogs:

1 ml Buscovet Compositum/10 kg body weight by I/V or I/M injection

Warnings & Precautions

In Horses, a slight transient increase in heart rate may be observed due to the parasympatholytic activity of butylscopolamine bromide

Contra Indications

Due to a risk of local reactions do not use the intramuscular route in horses.

Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredients

Storage condition:

Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C and used after opening for 50 days at temperature not exceeding 30°C .
