Product description

Composition:

Each 1 kg contains:

Tylosin phosphate 110.64 gm
(Eq. to Tylosin base 100 gm.)

Properties:

  • Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic produced by a strain of Streptomyces fradiae. It exerts its antimicrobial effect by inhibiting protein synthesis of susceptible micro-organisms.
  • The tylosin spectrum of activity includes Gram-positive bacteria, some Gram – negative bacteria such as Pasteurella spp., and Mycoplasma spp.

Target species:

Broilers.

Indications:

For the treatment of:

  • Respiratory infections caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and Mycoplasma synoviae, When the disease has been diagnosed in the flock.
  • Necrotic enteritis caused by Clostridium perfringens, when the disease has been diagnosed in the flock.

Dosage & route of administration:

Taken orally via non pelleted feed

For whole product:

  • Respiratory infections: 12.70 kg of premix / tonne feed /5 days.
  • Necrotic Enteritis: 2 kg of the premix / tonne feed /7 days.

Warning &precaution:

  • In the absence of compatibility studies, this veterinary medicinal product must not be mixed with other veterinary medicinal products.
  • Lincosamides and aminoglycoside antibiotics antagonize the activity of tylosin.
  • The sensitivity of bacteria to tylosin may have changed over time or geographically. It is sound clinical practice to base treatment on susceptibility testing.

Contra-indications:

  • Do not use in birds with known sensitivity to the active substance and/or to any of the excipients of the veterinary medicinal product,
  • Do not use where cross-resistance to other macrolides (MLS-resistance) is suspected.
  • Don’t use in laying hens producing eggs for human consumption.

Side effects:

  • There is no evidence of tylosin toxicity in chickens when administered orally at up to three times the recommended dose.

Withdrawal time:

Broilers: 1 day.

Storage conditions:

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30 ⁰C in a dry place. Used immediately after opening and mixed with feed .

Packaging:

  • Sachet of 3 layers (polyester, Aluminum, transparent Low density polyethylene) from outside to inside contains 30, 100, 500 gm, 1, 5, 10 or 25 Kg premix, with outer label containing data.
  • Double pack: the outer one is 3 layers (PE-Aluminum-Paper) sealed paper bag and the inner one is heat sealed LDPE colorless plastic bag contains 30, 100, 500 gm, 1, 5, 10 or 25 Kg premix, the outer sachet labeled with product information
