Menbutone                                            10 gm

Properties

  • Menbutone is a derivative of the oxy-butyric acid and stimulates the secretion of bile (trypsinogen and pepsinogen). After injection, it causes an increase in the secretion of bile, pancreatic juice and pepsin to the 2 – 5 times the normal values.
  • Thus, it promotes the passage and absorption of food.

Indications

Hepatonic is indicated for Stimulation of digestive activity of the liver with digestive disorders or hepatic insufficiency

Target species

Cattle, sheep, goat, horses & pig

Dosage & Administration

Calves (up to 6 months), sheep, goats and pigs:

  • 1 ml Hepatonic / 10 kg body weightIV, I/ Mor deep I/M.

Cattle:

  • 1 ml Hepatonic / 15 – 20 kg body weight intravenously given slowly

Horses:

  • 1 ml Hepatonic / 20 – 40 kg body weight intravenously given slowly

If necessary, be repeated after 24 hours of application

Warnings & Precautions

For horses, only the slow intravenous administration is recommended
The intravenous application should (faster than 1 minute) performed are not slow to point designated avoid side effects

Contra Indications

  • Do not use in case of hypersensitivity to the drug or any of the other ingredients.
  • Not for use in heart disease or in advanced pregnancy

Side Effects

  • After intravenous application, salivation, lacrimation, muscle tremors, spontaneous defecation and urine occur.
  • After intramuscular injection site reactions (edema, hemorrhage, necrosis) may occur

Storage condition

Store at temperature not exceeding 30°C and valid after opening for 50 days at temperature not exceeding 30°C
